This course aims at providing the S1 student with awareness and understanding of the verbal constituents of the verb phrase. It seeks to provide the student with the different forms and contexts of use of the English verb tenses, modals, conditionals, passive voice, gerund and infinitive,and reported speech. It also tries to develop in the student a good sense of appropriateness and accuracy regarding the use of verbs in all their aspects.

 Today, ICT is inherently embedded in almost every aspect of everyday life, including education. One of the number implementations of ICT in education which is showing off its significant potential and development is the implementation of ICT in language teaching. Experts and education practitioners are highly supporting the use of ICT in order to soar the efficiency and effectiveness of instruction in which hopefully increasing students’ target language mastery and understanding. In other words, the integration of ICT in language teaching is unavoidable, considering both ICT and language teaching are inherently supporting and are indeed two sides of the same coin.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Name : ICT in ELT S12021ICTPersp

 Course Description This course is aimed to make students understand the basic concepts of ICT in language teaching – including “web-based learning”, “e-learning”, or “blended learning” “ digital material development and adaptation” .  It also provides practical examples of how to find appropriate materials to be used in English language teaching. Moreover, by joining this course students are expected to be able to develop appropriate ICT based language teaching material/program, and how to implement it. In order to support the presented material, this course requires students to do some practices to hone students’ creativity in developing and implementing ICT in language teaching context as well. However, student teachers have to bear in mind that besides the extra materials used in this course they must actively find appropriate supporting material and resources related to this field either from other resources or through team projects .

Objectives

By participating in this course in person or at a distance students will be able to:

1. improve their technology literacy;

 2. improve their English teaching method and approach concerning the utilization of ICT (on-line or off-line);

3. Develop creative ways of digital materials development and adaptation ;

4. Develop assessment tools to design, administer, and score online tests.
