Introduction to the course: British Culture & Society 

            This module’s main objective is to help you develop an understanding of British culture through analysis of a range of social, cultural, economic and political aspects of life in the UK. This includes a focus on the main historical events that contributed in the shaping of British identity. The module also offers opportunities for you to acquire knowledge of several British cultural practices and to understand the multicultural nature of the UK and its richness.

           After completion of this module, you should be able to:

• Identify main British values as well as some national traditions and customs.
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic terms and concepts related to the British political and educational systems and media.
• Engage in constructive critical discussion of the issues/aspects studied.
